The best of life is yet to come.
Of Jesus’ many miracles, one of the best known is when He turned water into wine at a wedding in Cana. The circumstances surrounding the situation could have been embarrassing for the bridegroom, as he had run out of wine at the celebration. Running out of wine at a wedding was an unacceptable social blunder. At the request of His mother, Jesus took pots used for ceremonial cleansing, filled them with water and then miraculously turned the water into wine and served some to the master. It must have been really good, because the master called the bridegroom over and said, “Most people serve the good wine first and when the guests have had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have saved the best for last.” What a great message to us: Jesus’ miracle reiterates His promise of provision…we will not run out of wine… and reveals that, the wine we drink now is the “cheap stuff” compared to the wine in His Kingdom to come. He has “saved the best for last.” John 2
